Values and Culture
Perhaps you’ve heard the saying “Your culture is your strategy” or “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” Both true, but what is culture and how do you get a good one?
Culture evolves from common, agreed upon, and practiced values. The difficulty, however, is that values can conflict. For example high quality and speed often lead to different strategies or decisions. That is why you need a hierarchy so you know which values are dominate and which are subordinate when they are conflicting.
Excellence means uncompromisingly high standards. Productivity means using systems thinking and technology to deliver faster and cheaper and will never take precedence over excellence. Curiosity means always looking for a better way to solve problems and will never be prioritized over productivity or excellence.
From Our Founder – Jake Lee
I’m obsessed with helping businesses make better decisions. My interest comes at the intersection of being fascinated by the psychology of decision making, an affection for optimization and deep curiosity about data and statistics.
I’ve been engaged in Statistics/Marketing Science since 2005 and have many years of experience with customer segmentation and Discrete Choice (Choice-based Conjoint, Conjoint Analysis). I founded Red Analytics so more actively express my values in the marketplace.
When not at work, I’ll be in the backyard grilling up some gourmet cheeseburgers.
